Did Bush ever even try to connect with the real American public? All I ever heard was him defending the choice to spend billions upon billions of dollars on a "war" that was a lost cause to begin with, after misleading the country into believing Iraq had weapons of mass destruction, and was responsible for 9/11, neither of which have ever been substantiated. Just think of the what we could have accomplished in the areas of education, health care, alternative energy and technology right here at home with that kind of funding.
And don't even get me started on the NCLB fix for education....

So you are going to judge the President by what some unknown person is reported (by Fox News perhaps??) to have said. What has that got to do with his abilities?? Also, it is the security that is upping the cost of the inauguration - I suppose you think that he should have no security (so some nut job like you can shoot him).
